The Virtual Cell Animations app includes an animation, still images, narrative, and content quiz. In version 1.4, the modules covered are aerobic respiration; cellular respiration; meiosis and mitosis; photosynthesis; protein expression; RNA expression; secretion; and signaling. The app was developed by Virtual Cell Productions, a North Dakota State University project team funded by the United States National Science Foundation Course, Curriculum, and Laboratory Improvement program. The mission of the team is to develop visualization tools to aid the learning of science concepts for students of all ages.
Requires iOS 4.3 or later. Compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
